Mummy Sound System 3000

MUMMY SOUND SYSTEM 3000 unfolds around a single, reconstructed breath. A voice pulled from deep time through CT-scans and 3D-printing, echoing the throat of Nesyamun, a priest preserved across three millennia. This isolated sound, a fragile groan suspended between life and artifact, becomes the starting point for a contemporary sound system gesture. Aligned with the pulse of Serge Gainsbourg’s Javanaise Dub, the work gestures toward France and its historical gaze upon Egypt, where fascination, appropriation and colonial presence remain softly entangled. In this layered encounter, the ancient groan drifts through modern rhythm, tracing a subtle line between archaeology, memory and inherited power structures.
