About

BAUKLANK is the work of Hans Kerkhof, an Amsterdam-based sound artist who makes installations, objects, and sculptures in which sound, electronics, and code come together. The starting point is often found or discarded electronics — speakers, circuits, household appliances — rebuilt into autonomous, speaking objects with a character of their own.

His work moves between engineering and storytelling: technical components become instruments for an absurd, poetic logic hidden in everyday electronic systems. BAUKLANK has exhibited at, among others, De School in Hillegom (2025), where 15 works transformed a former electronics store into an exhibition space.

The work is continuously expanded and documented; part of the catalogue consists of finished installations, another part of prototypes and work in progress.
